Joseph C. Ritchie, Jr. – President
Joey has over 30 years of leadership and management experience. Throughout his career, he has held key positions in construction, engineering and warfare specialties. Joey has been involved with project design for over 30 years, with a concentration in commercial construction for over the last two decades. Working with Joey and the Ritchie-Curbow team assures you will be able to take full advantage of generations of experience--including financial, project and contract management, business development, estimating, engineering design, testing and analysis, value engineering, scheduling and preconstruction services—to your next commercial project.
Joey earned a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1978 and a Masters in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1988.
In his free time Joey enjoys flying general aviation aircraft, boating and strumming guitar with his Church.

Mike Ellis – VP Business Development/Estimator
Mike is truly unique at Ritchie-Curbow. Not only does he have nearly two decades of experience in commercial construction, but all that time, experience, and expertise has been here with our company. Mike started with Team Ritchie-Curbow as a member of the erection crew and quickly graduated to superintendent before progressing once more into management. His time in the field and strong relationships with some of our area's most successful, long established, local contractors adds to our portfolio and facilitates successful owner relationships. Mike has recently transitioned from project management into the exciting new role of VP Business Development/Estimator. His knowledge, perseverance and capabilities make him an invaluable member of our team.
In his spare time, Mike enjoys spending time with his beautiful kids, trips to the beach, playing guitar, and interpretive dance.

Mariah Venus – Comptroller
Mariah joined Ritchie-Curbow in 2021 as Controller and is in charge of all accounting and payroll functions.
Mariah graduated from Saint Leo University and has a background in leadership, accounting and accounting related technology. Mariah enjoys live music, hiking and spoiling her two English Bulldogs.

Stephanie Callis – Project Manager
Stephanie Callis is a Project Management force, contributing her variety of talents to our team. "Project Manager" is one of many hats Stephanie has worn at our organization. She joined Team Ritchie-Curbow in 2017 as a Project Manager Assistant. Because of Stephanie’s attention to detail, investment in processes and procedures, problem solving skills, and teamwork mentality, she quickly stepped into the role of Project Manager. Stephanie is a battle tested veteran of schedules, lookaheads, pay applications, coordinating procurement, and working with some of the best subs in the business. She is also the resident LEED documentation specialist. You will quickly appreciate her tenacity and moxie when she is managing your project. She is well versed in both saving our clients money, and, most importantly, time.
Stephanie is a longtime resident of Newport News, VA but a native of Rochester, NY. She proudly served in the United States Navy, where she was a "Nuc EM," serving on both the USS Enterprise (CVN 65) and the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). She is a graduate of ODU where she received both her undergrad and her recent Grad Certificate for Project Management in Engineering & Technology (GCPM). In Stephanie’s spare time, she is looking for ways to improve and help the community where she lives. Always a bright light and spirit, she contributes to the well-being of the office and patiently assists and trains the newbies. She is the lead singer of Bay River Band and a member of Chosen Delegation community gospel choir.

Rob Little – Project Manager
Rob is a proud member of the United States Army National Guard, as well as a veteran Marine. Most importantly, he is a proud East Carolina University Pirate. Rob has successfully performed each step a project requires--from coordinating and ensuring equipment delivery, to building bridges, now managing, scheduling, and coordinating some of our Ritchie-Curbow projects. One thing that is for certain is that he works in a team; he is project and timeline driven. Rob brings a wealth of expertise and personality to any projects he is involved in.
Along with being a member of Team Ritchie-Curbow, he is a proud father of 3 beautiful girls and supportive husband to his wife, who is a nurse. In his spare time, he enjoys getting out into nature, either in the woods hunting, or out on the water fishing.

Rex Kohen – Senior Project Superintendent
Rex joined Ritchie-Curbow in 2004 and hasn't looked back (much) since. Not only is he our Senior Project Superintendent, he is an integral cornerstone of our organization. Throughout his 40 year career in construction, Rex has worked alongside a local network of time honored subcontractors. Fair, dependable, hard working, and attentive to detail, crews know he is a battle and site tested, experienced, and knowledgeable. Rex knows construction from Aggregate all the way to Z-bar flashing and zoning. Rex is a Superintendent that completes his jobs within schedule and on budget; Team Ritchie-Curbow benefits daily from his expertise, teamwork, and wealth of expertise. We are proud to say he has been with our organization for over 17 years. He has completed a wide variety of jobs including midrise office buildings, parking garages, schools, office warehouses and renovation work. Rex is also the best site photographer in the team, and his pictures are some of our favorite.
When he’s not at work, you can find him cruising on his Harley and spending as much time in the Blue Ridge Mountains riding as much as he can. His can also cook a pig in the ground, so that is an amazing plus and asset to any team, right?

Jake Hughes – Project Superintendent
Jake has been in the construction industry for many years beginning in residential before transitioning into commercial. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the table and is a phenomenal liaison between owners and subcontractors. He is methodical in his construction building approach and is able to anticipate client needs, decipher design intent and ensure project parameters are met.
Jake is a graduate of VMI (go "Keydets") and is a devoted family and church man.

Ron Burke – Project Superintendent
Ron Burke, now a proud member of Team Ritchie-Curbow, is a Site Superintendent that brings with him years of project and operations management experience. With over 30 years working in commercial renovations, new construction projects and maintenance upgrades, our team benefits by from his breadth and width of field and casework knowledge, as well as years of strong, local relationships with some of our local industry's strongest and longest running sub-contractors around. With strong hands-on background in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, and personnel development, Ron has proven ability to plan and lead projects to completion. When working with Ron, crews know they can depend on strong, focus driven leadership and know they have an experienced individual with strong, proven, problem-solving capabilities on their team.
Ron is a proud West Virginia University Mountaineer, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in 1986. Not only does Ron have Commercial Construction Management experience, he is also a proud father and supporting partner to his wife, who is also an experienced construction administrative tactician.
